It’s that time of year again… No, this is not about Christmas, but about skiing and enjoyment! You’ve already heard a lot about it in our Blog Hut. We also reported on the very first Skiing & Culinary Delights dish “Beetroot gnocchi with whey cheese”, which was created by Roland Trettl. Mmmh, that was so delicious! Have you already tried it? In the next edition we are honoured by another star chef in the organic mountain restaurant Lumberjack.
Nelson Müller started thinking about the Wagrain-Kleinarl region a year ago. His task: to create a Skiing & Culinary Delights dish that reflects the region as well as himself. Of course, the high-quality Bio from the Valley was also a must. Because the cooking here is only regional!
There are a total of five participating huts where you can try the delicious dish throughout the winter season. They are the Berggasthof Schüttalm, the organic mountain restaurant Lumberjack, the Gasthaus Galler, the Starchenstadl and the Kühbergalm Wagrain.
What’s in the dish? Oh yes, and many of you will be surprised. 😊. I’ll tell you. “Grandma’s pot roast” with beetroot gravy, wild herb dumplings made from purple organic bread, spiced red cabbage & cream cheese”. Yes, that’s a rather long name, I know. But I’m sure you can imagine the dish quite well.
The main Skiing & Culinary Delights event will take place on 18th March 2022 in the organic mountain restaurant Lumberjack (unfortunately, the event has to be postponed to 2023 due to covid; expected date: 17.03.2023). A ticket for this event costs € 28,00 and is available in advance at the offices of Wagrain-Kleinarl Tourist Office or directly in the organic mountain restaurant Lumberjack on the day of the event. On this day, Nelson Müller will present a LIVE cookery show including musical accompaniment by a DJ. The exciting thing about this year’s celebrity chef is his philosophy of life “from nose to tail”. For example, he processes everything from the nose to the hindquarters of an animal. 😊😊
As every year, Rudi Pichler is once again the host chef for Skiing & Culinary Delights. Born in Kleinarl, he knows the region and its food very well and is on hand to give advice and support to the star chefs.
