Skiing pleasure in Zauchensee

On the Rosskopf, Gamskogel and Tauernkar in Zauchensee/Flachauwinkl and the interconnected skiing area towards Flachauwinkl/Kleinarl, more than 80 kilometres of pistes and 25 lifts and cable cars provide for the perfect skiing experience. I would like to introduce you to my favourite piste so that you can enjoy skiing on our perfectly prepared downhill slopes as much as I do.

perfect slopes in Zauchensee

The Zauchensee skiing region offers a wide variety of experiences on pistes: from wide enjoyable downhill runs to challenging skiing runs and free-ride slopes. My tip for beginners, as well as for professional skiers, is the Gamskogel Eastern downhill run.

My dream piste: the Gamskogel Eastern downhill run, piste no. 9

Sunlight on the eastern slope of the Gamskogel provides perfect light as early as dawn. The Schwarzwandbahn takes me from the World Cup Arena up to the Gamskogel, where one can enjoy an excellent view of the Salzburg mountains. I really like the Gamskogel Eastern downhill run, piste no. 9 as it is one of the longest pistes in Zauchensee and you can enjoy skiing to its full extent over a drop of about 720 metres. The wide and always perfectly prepared piste is ideal for carving and enjoyable skiing, whether you are a light skier or a professional skier. The downhill run ends at the World Cup Arena, where I like to relax in one of the traditional restaurants.

Altenmarkt Zauchensee the perfect ski destination

Most diverse skiing fun on approx. 80 km of pistes in Zauchensee/Flachauwinkl/Kleinarl

For those of you who enjoy skiing, there are 24 kilometres of blue pistes, such as the Gamskogel or Rosskopf downhill runs. I look for challenges on the black pistes, such as the demanding Tauernkar piste or the 4 skiing runs in Zauchensee/Flachauwinkl. We ensure safety on snow and perfect conditions on all pistes with most modern snow-making machines.

See you on the pistes as soon as the season begins.

Your Andreas

After studying in Salzburg, I moved back to my beautiful hometown “Altenmarkt”. In addition to the wonderful mountain scenery and the many opportunities - both in summer and in winter - I appreciate as an enthusiastic musician and member of the traditional brass band Altenmarkt above all the community, culture and customs in our region.
