The first snowflakes in Zauchensee really made me look forward to the coming winter season and whizzing down our freshly-prepared pistes. It’s time to get out my ski equipment and get it in shape for winter.
Here in Zauchensee winter already heralded its arrival some weeks ago and last week I persuaded myself to get my equipment out of the cellar to get it “fit“ for the coming season. There’s no room for neglect in caring for my ski equipment, as I want to enjoy every single turn on the slopes. However, I let the experts in our sports shops do the ski service, which costs 30 to 50 Euro. You can undertake a ski service yourself – the necessary equipment sets with iron, edge sharpeners, brushes, blades etc. cost between 100 and 200 Euro, but can be of course be used more than once.
Atomic Test Day at Intersport Schneider
As I love to follow the latest trends in ski technology, I’ll take part this year again in the “Intersport Schneider Ski Test“. All winter sports enthusiasts can try out the latest Atomic skis and boots at Intersport Schneider in the World Cup Arena Zauchensee on the 9th December. Amongst other things you can try out the popular Redster-series with the new World Cup Race Technology Servotec. Anyone interested in this VIP ski and boot test should contact Intersport Schneider directly to enquire about the ski test, as pre-booking is required. Let’s see, maybe I’ll be persuaded to purchase a new pair of skis 😉
Skiing in Salzburg
In no other region are there so many possibilities to experience skiing in all its forms as in Salzburg. This year too, I can really recommend purchasing the Ski Amadé ski pass at a cheaper pre-season rate. This offer is valid until 5th December. A total of 5 ski regions (Salzburger Sportwelt, Schladming-Dachstein, Hochkönig, Gastein and the Grossarl Valley) with a total of 760 km pistes and 270 lifts are covered on this one ski pass.
If that’s not enough, you might be interested in the Super Ski Card covering 23 ski regions, three of which are glacier regions, 2,750 km of pistes and a possible 200 days skiing per year.
Wishing you a wonderful coming winter season and good luck with the preparations!
Your Andreas
