The Mountain Bike Adventure “Stoneman Taurista” is calling. Are you ready?

07.07. – even the start date is almost magical.  Quite suitable, as you’ll remember what awaits you and your bike on this tour for a long time to come.

“The Stoneman is a mountain bike experience that starts with a dream, awakens a yearning within you, makes your biker’s heart beat faster and ends with moving memories“. That’s how those who should know describe it – namely those who have already undertaken a Stoneman.

After Italy, Germany and Switzerland, the success story of the internationally-hyped mountain bike challenge “Stoneman by Roland Stauder“ now has an Austrian version under the name of  “Stoneman Taurista“ which takes place in the Salzburger Sportwelt region and Obertauern.

Along the 123 long route there are 4,500 metres in altitude to conquer. Flowing trails lead on to hard ascents – yes, there are even energy-sapping passages where you have to push or carry your bike. The Stoneman Taurista challenges participants physically and mentally. However, an unbelievably impressive “360 degree alpine panorama“ and the scenic nature of the Tauern mountains with its peaks, glittering mountain lakes and idyllic alpine pasture areas are certainly well worth the huge effort. “The hashtag #pureMTBemotion states exactly what it is, a real, very personal highlight,“ states Florian Schwarzenbacher, for example – he’s one of the hard-working helpers, who together with Stoneman founder Roland Stauder marked out and prepared the course last week.

As of 07.07.2018 keen sportsmen, equipped with the Stoneman starter package, can undertake the Stoneman Taurista in one go or split in to 2 or 3 daily stages. 8 check points have to be passed. At the end of the tour each Stoneman participant receives his very own personal Stoneman trophy, regardless of whether he finishes the 123 km in one, two or three days, with a golden, silver or bronze-coloured stone.

That’s where I’m from, that’s where I belong – my mountains, I can’t imagine being without them. The view at the peak arouses a feeling of freedom in me, that I can’t find anywhere else. I’m simply a child of the mountains. I would like to introduce you to my wonderful home and show you my favourite spots.
